NAVSEA's Safety and Regulatory Compliance Directorate (SEA 09) needs to advance modernization process standardization, continuous improvement, and integration with the Navy's digital engineering and IT systems by developing and maintaining the Navy Modernization Process (NMP), policies, and supporting information systems.
Requirements
- Fifteen (15) or more years of experience with software engineering
- Demonstrated experience in the application of Agile, DevOps/DevSecOps
- Fifteen (15) or more years of experience with DOD/Navy Software Engineering
- Demonstrated experience in the application of Agile, DevOps/DevSecOps
- Experience with DoD/DoN Procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process)
Responsibilities
- Leads software design, development, and implementation of modernization tools and applications
- Applies Agile and DevSecOps principles to support iterative development and deployment
- Oversees code reviews, integration testing, and version control
- Coordinates with systems engineers and database administrators to ensure interoperability
- Implements cybersecurity controls and compliance standards in software systems
- Prepares software documentation, release notes, and user manuals
- Provides technical direction to mid and junior-level developers
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering (master’s preferred)
- Agile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer certification
- US Citizenship
