STARZ is looking to build the next-generation video streaming platform for consumers on the WebTV platform, requiring the design and delivery of innovative user experiences for their consumer-facing streaming application.

Requirements

  • Expertise in frameworks such as Angular, React, Next.js, and Node.js.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing consumer-facing user interfaces and supporting UI components.
  • Experience with video playback systems, particularly in managing DRM-protected content using DASH, Widevine, and PlayReady.
  • Proficiency in DRM management, working with various codecs, integrating closed captions and familiarity with streaming protocols is highly valued.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-based architectures (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft developer stack (UWP, WPF) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create best-in-class content discovery and video streaming experiences for STARZ subscribers across multiple streaming platforms.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure products are of high quality and performance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in STARZ web applications and related service APIs.
  • Contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle: Architecture and design
  • Object-oriented development
  • Unit testing/test-driven development
  • Integration testing

Other

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise or consumer software development
  • Work collaboratively with members of the broader Digital Platforms team—including leadership, QA professionals, designers, business analysts, and software engineers—in an open, creative environment.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proven ability to diagnose, debug, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred)
