Nordstrom is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join their Finance Technology Team to intensify the pace of innovation and support future growth through technology solutions.
Requirements
- 4+ years experience with object-oriented languages such as Java or Python
- Recent experience with React, JavaScript, React-Native, or Node.js
- Recent experience with Amazon Web Services (Amazon Aurora, S3, EC2, Lambda)
- Recent experience with Java, Java Spring Boot Framework, Containerization (Kubernetes/Docker)
- Test automation experience at all levels (Unit, Integration, Regression, Load)
- Familiarity with modern infrastructure tools and pipelines (Gitlab CI/CD, Terraform)
- Familiarity with ops tools, logging, and metrics (New Relic, Splunk, CloudWatch)
Responsibilities
- Design and collaborate with local and partner teams.
- Create quality, testable code and maintain a high bar for code quality, testing and automation while finding opportunities to continuously improve them.
- Test all scenarios and conform to quality and security standards
- Participate in design and code review to ensure quality and testability of feature code
- Understand, identify, measure performance and success of features
- Identify performance issues; apply knowledge of security coding practices and secure system fundamentals (e.g., cross-site scripting, security certificates)
- Contribute to documentation of technical designs of systems
Other
- Work independently while demonstrating a bias for action and flexibility to evolving business needs.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related degree
- 7+ years professional experience in the software engineering industry
- Experience in the Retail, Finance domain is a plus
- Experience supporting a 99% uptime application
