Jaan Health is looking to architect, build, and scale the next generation of their AI-powered virtual care platform, Phamily, to address the increasing cost and profitability challenges facing the healthcare industry and to transform healthcare from reactive episodic treatment to proactive care management.

Requirements

  • 7+ years full-cycle and full-stack experience (preferably Ruby on Rails + JS/Vue)
  • You’ve built, shipped, and maintained production SaaS systems for years
  • Strong architectural instincts and ability to coach others
  • You are an AI-native engineer who has already changed your workflow because of AI, faster prototyping, better reasoning, rapid debugging, automated scaffolding, or intelligent documentation loops.
  • Bonus: Healthcare, HL7/FHIR, data ingestion, ML/LLM interest

Responsibilities

  • Architect and build full-stack feature end-to-end (Ruby on Rails, Python, SQL, JS/Vue/React)
  • Drive technical vision, code quality standards, and engineering best practices
  • Ship quickly in iterative cycles: prototype, launch, iterate, scale
  • Use AI tools to speed up engineering output for yourself and your team
  • Build, maintain, and scale SaaS products that serve real patients and clinicians
  • Own migrations, services, APIs, and long-term maintainability

Other

  • Lead engineers across projects
  • Communicate complex concepts simply and help technical and non-technical teams align
  • Make pragmatic trade-offs to deliver value fast while maintaining product integrity
  • Managed a team of at least 2 engineers
  • Clear communicator with high signal and low ego
  • Startup or fast-paced environment experience
  • You are a problem-obsessed builder who can’t let go of a challenge until you’ve broken it down, understood the “why,” and solved it with clarity.
  • You think clearly and explain complex technical systems so non-engineers instantly understand.
  • You make good trade-offs, move fast under pressure, and keep teams aligned on what matters most.
