Medtronic Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Device Embedded System (DES) organization needs to develop next-generation medical technologies that alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life for millions of patients. The Senior Software Engineering Manager will lead teams responsible for designing, developing, verifying, and delivering post-market support for implantable embedded software.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant technical experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, OR advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience.
  • Strong Embedded Design and regulatory experience, especially post-market/released medical device software
  • Experience working with embedded system requirements and interface specifications.

Responsibilities

  • leading teams that are responsible for designing, developing, verifying, and delivering post-market support for implantable embedded software.
  • Develop, evaluate, monitor and maintain design control systems that establish processes and best practices, considering both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with program managers to analyze metrics, fostering a culture of continuous improvement while effectively managing cost, scope, and schedule.
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the DES organization.
  • Influences direct reports to focus on technical leadership, knowledge transfer, and career growth.
  • Sets team and individual goals that align with key business outcomes.
  • Monitors progress and provides quarterly performance feedback to direct reports

  • This position is in Mounds View, MN within the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) operating unit and requires an on-site presence.
  • We are working onsite 4 days per week as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary.
  • This role will require less than 10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to influence embedded practices and organizational processes with all levels of R&D.
