Medtronic is looking to solve the business problem of developing next generation medical technologies to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life for millions of patients across the world, specifically in the area of Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Device Embedded System (DES).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant technical experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, OR advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience.
- Strong Embedded Design and regulatory experience, especially post-market/released medical device software
- Experience working with embedded system requirements and interface specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to influence embedded practices and organizational processes with all levels of R&D.
- Strong communication, leadership, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of design control procedures used within the medical device industry.
Responsibilities
- Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the DES organization.
- Collaborates with program managers to analyze metrics, fostering a culture of continuous improvement while effectively managing cost, scope, and schedule.
- Sets team and individual goals that align with key business outcomes.
- Develop, evaluate, monitor and maintain design control systems that establish processes and best practices, considering both external and internal stakeholders.
- Escalates issues following established governance practices as appropriate.
- Leads teams that are responsible for designing, developing, verifying, and delivering post-market support for implantable embedded software.
- Operates in all phases and contributes to all activities of the software development process.
Other
- Less than 10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.
- On-site presence in Mounds View, MN within the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) operating unit, working onsite 4 days per week.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
