Veracyte is seeking a Senior Software QA Engineer to lead the testing process for applications that help expand and develop new diagnostic solutions to improve patient outcomes and lower healthcare costs. This role is critical for ensuring the quality, integrity, and compliance of software and computerized systems in a regulated laboratory environment, specifically within genomics and life sciences.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in LIMS testing, preferably Labbit LIMS or equivalent, with increasing levels of responsibility.
- In-depth understanding of laboratory science workflows, particularly in genomics, molecular biology, or clinical research environments.
- Proven experience translating technical requirements into testing strategies.
- Proficiency with LIMS configuration, user roles, and supporting validation documentation.
- Solid understanding of GAMP5 risk based computerized systems validation methodology
- Solid understanding of regulatory requirements, including GxP, GLP, GCP, CLIA, and data integrity frameworks.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Responsibilities
- Lead the testing process for applications at Veracyte that directly help our company expand and develop new diagnostic solutions to improve patient outcomes and lower healthcare costs.
- Serve as a primary owner of testing for software and computerized systems releases, translating complex technical requirements into robust, risk-based scalable testing strategies.
- Work cross-functionally with software developers, IT teams, and business stakeholders to optimize testing efficiency, data integrity, and compliance.
- Act as key point of contact for testing and QA aspects of releases, providing testing services and coordinating with internal resources.
- Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and reports (manual and automated).
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and potential automation of testing strategies and processes.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and data integrity standards across LIMS workflows and associated systems.

- This is a hybrid/onsite position based in our San Diego, CA or South San Francisco, CA Office location. We may also consider remote candidates.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional discussions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, with clear timelines and outcomes.
