Raytheon's Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) center needs a Software Safety Engineer to ensure the safety of software components within the Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) program, upholding high standards of product safety and reliability.
Requirements
- Experience with Computer Science, Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical or Firmware Engineering.
- Experience with interpreting system requirements, customer specifications, and military standards.
- Experience with DoD System Safety Programs
- Experience analyzing engineering software and/or firmware in accordance with MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, AOP-52, and other relevant standards.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing engineering software and/or firmware in accordance with MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, AOP-52, and other relevant standards.
- Working with software development teams to review and analyze embedded software code.
- Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through deployment to gain concurrence with software builds.
- Assist with Software and/or Firmware analyses.
- Participating in the execution of the Software System Safety Program.
- Interfacing with various stakeholders, including customers, program offices, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Assisting with the preparation of Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for customer approval.

- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
