Rivian is looking to characterize the quality and performance of its Automated Parking and Active Safety features by designing and evaluating testing for simulated and real-world driving data.

Requirements

  • Excellent data analysis and programming skills (Python, SQL).
  • Ability to understand and navigate software code (C/C++) is preferred.
  • Experience with time-series analysis and working with large-scale datasets.
  • Understanding & knowledge of L0/L1/L2/L3/L4 levels of automation and associated vehicle systems & features.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and continuous integration concepts for developing and implementing software including git.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Amazon S3 and Databricks is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deploy and debug KPIs and metrics to evaluate the quality and performance of Automated Parking and Active Safety features built on Rivian’s Autonomy Stack.
  • Develop measurements based on the operational design domain, functional, performance, and safety requirements of features.
  • Devise scalable methodologies for measuring and analyzing large datasets in simulation that can predict on-road feature performance.
  • Develop optimized signatures that identify and trigger events of interest leveraging Rivian’s autonomy logging pipeline.
  • Collaborate within Autonomy development teams such as pose, perception, planning, motion control for end-to-end metric design and development.
  • Work closely with the Simulation Infrastructure team for development, integration, and testing of metrics.
  • Design, develop, deploy and debug SiL and HiL tests to exercise Automated Parking and Active Safety features.

Other

  • 4+ years (Bachelor’s)/2+ years (Master’s) professional experience in systems engineering or software development, building autonomous systems or similarly complex robotics systems.
  • Experienced with root cause analysis and working with cross-functional teams in a Product / Feature development environment.
  • Strong problem solving skills in a highly cross functional and fast paced environment.
  • Stay current with industry and Rivian best practices including creating applicable documentation for the wider team’s consumption and ease-of-use.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Robotics or a related field.
