Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a skilled Metrology Engineer to ensure the accuracy and reliability of measurement systems and instruments used in manufacturing and quality control processes.
Requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO 17025 requirements.
- Certification in metrology or related disciplines (e.g., ASQ Certified Calibration Technician).
- Experience operating in a laboratory to ISO 17025 requirements.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to metrology.
- Proficiency in using metrology software and tools (GAGEtrak).
- Understanding of measurement principles, techniques, and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain metrology processes and systems to ensure the accuracy and reliability of measurements.
- Perform calibration and validation of measurement instruments and systems and maintain procedures for others to follow.
- Analyze measurement data and provide technical reports and recommendations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve measurement-related issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, with knowledge on ISO 17025.
- Maintain detailed records of calibration, validation, and maintenance activities.
- Continuously improve metrology processes and systems through research and implementation of new technologies and methodologies.
Other
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience in precision measurement and/or metrology processes.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related metrology experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related metrology experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
