Leidos is seeking a Sr. SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to partner on a large enterprise IT contract for the DOD, performing day-to-day technical database administration tasks.
Requirements
- experience in implementing and managing Oracle RAC with Data Guard, as well as enterprise DB on Linux or Solaris, and should also be capable of implementing and managing SQL Servers.
- Proficient in writing bash scripts on a Linux OS for managing Enterprise DB and Oracle databases.
- Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II certification requirements (currently Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP)
- Higher level knowledge of standards, concepts and tools to be able to complete technology assignments.
- Domain level technical knowledge to maintain databases, ensure recovery and provide database patches.
- Experience working independently on technical database administration activities in support of a client on databases.
- Experience implementing a broad range of assignments requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
Responsibilities
- Performs day-to-day technical database administration tasks.
- database design, database structure identification, database schema definition, database access privilege management, database query optimization, documentation, database instance upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and database protection.
- managing databases, handling backups, performing recoveries, and applying security patches.
- reviewing data within the database, ensuring the integrity of user data, maintaining database support tools, managing database tables and dictionaries, overseeing recovery and backup procedures, and providing recommendations for enhancements and improvements.
- Configuration and management of Oracle Clusters and ensuring high availability.
- Responsible for the configuration and upkeep of Enterprise DB/PostgreSQL.
- Overseeing the configuration and management of SQL Server clusters to ensure high availability.
