Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) is seeking a Senior Systems Software Engineer to modernize and deliver the next-generation Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) aircraft for the U.S. Air Force, ensuring continued critical command, control, and communication during national emergencies.
Requirements
- Advanced understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
- Knowledge of industry standard Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) approaches and tools
- Software Systems Experience
- Working knowledge of Python, C++
- Modeling and Simulation
- Advanced Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools, such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, MATLAB
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles and safety-critical software standards
Responsibilities
- Contribute to system architecture development and software design
- Exercising independent judgment on software architecture, methods, and techniques to achieve results
- Analyzing context of deliverable solutions against constraints and available technology
- Engage in system-level problem-solving, performance optimization, and the creation of robust, scalable software architectures
- Detailed systems engineering tasks such as requirements analysis, system modeling, and simulation, alongside software development
- Ensure the seamless integration and functionality of our systems
- Driving technical innovation and maintaining the high standards of our software engineering practices

- Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Progressive experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Experience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures
- Experience working agile methodologies with Atlassian tools
- This position requires current/active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.
