Western Governors University is looking to migrate its front-end applications to a cutting-edge monorepo architecture, and is seeking a Staff Angular Front-end Engineer to drive this high-impact migration and shape the future of its front-end platform.
Requirements
- Expert-level experience with Angular (v12+) including advanced knowledge of RxJS, NgRx or other state management solutions, and modular application design.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and maintaining monorepo architectures (e.g., Nx, Bazel, or similar) for large-scale front-end applications.
- Strong track record of building and maintaining large-scale front-end architectures, including performance and scalability considerations.
- Deep understanding of front-end build systems and CI pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or comparable tools).
- Skilled in modern TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and front-end testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, etc.).
- Experience with AWS services or other major cloud platforms to deploy and scale front-end applications.
- Technical certifications in front-end frameworks, cloud technologies, or CI/CD architecture.
Responsibilities
- Lead the migration of our front-end applications to a monorepo architecture, ensuring a scalable, maintainable, and high-performing Angular ecosystem.
- Act as the Angular subject matter expert, setting best practices for component architecture, state management, and performance optimization.
- Design and implement robust CI pipelines to support continuous integration across multiple teams; partner with DevOps on CI/CD strategy.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring, guiding engineers in modern front-end engineering patterns and monorepo best practices.
- Collaborate closely with product and platform teams to identify technical risks, dependencies, and solutions early in the development lifecycle.
- Drive operational excellence, improving code quality, testing strategies, and deployment reliability across the engineering organization.
- Contribute to long-term front-end platform strategy, influencing tooling, coding standards, and architectural decisions.
