MLabs is looking to solve the problem of scaling its high-frequency trading systems, which are critical to its business and require ultra-low latency, reliability, and correctness.

Requirements

  • Proven experience building high-stakes infrastructure for trading, exchange, or financial systems.
  • Strong intuition and expertise in systems design, distributed computing, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with Node.js, Python, MongoDB, and AWS Serverless.
  • Ability to work with low-latency, high-throughput systems.
  • Ability to optimize services for maximum performance.
  • Experience with ultra-low latency, reliability, and correctness in trading systems.
  • Ability to make critical architectural decisions with immediate production impact.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly alongside the CEO, COO, and founding engineers, driving core engineering strategy.
  • Design and build robust backend systems for Order Routing, Execution, Pricing Engines, and Reconciliation and Settlement.
  • Optimize services for maximum performance, ensuring extreme latency targets, high throughput, and fault tolerance are met.
  • Make critical architectural decisions that have immediate and direct production impact on a global-scale platform.
  • Work with a modern and scalable tech stack including Node.js, Python, MongoDB, and AWS Serverless.
  • Own and scale mission-critical trading systems.
  • Architect, build, and maintain the core trading infrastructure.

  • Must be based in Asia to align with the team's operational base and key market hours.
  • Demonstrable high ownership, self-starter mentality, and comfort working long hours on complex, time-sensitive problems.
  • Full autonomy and ownership over core business logic and trading systems.
