Requirements
- Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python, with practical experience using Snowflake for data processing and transformation
- Skilled in reporting and dashboard creation using Power BI
- Deep understanding of data governance principles and frameworks
- Familiarity with metadata tools and modern data platforms (e.g., dbt, Atlan, Monte Carlo, Collibra)
- Working knowledge of data privacy and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2)
- Strong experience working cross-functionally across engineering, analytics, product, and legal teams
Responsibilities
- Drive the data governance roadmap aligned with product, engineering, and business goals.
- Design and implement scalable frameworks to ensure data trust, security, and platform reusability.
- Implement automated data quality checks across pipelines in partnership with dev teams.
- Monitor and manage key data quality KPIs using commercial or in-house DQ tooling.
- Collaborate with data engineers to manage schema validation, anomaly detection, and alerting.
- Oversee automated metadata and lineage tracking across data tools (e.g., PBI, Snowflake).
- Implement controls to ensure compliance with privacy/security regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2)
Other
- 8+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or metadata management in a fast-paced tech or SaaS environment.
- Masters degree in a related field with 6+ years of experience; or PhD with 3 years of experience
- Strong initiative and ownership mindset, with the ability to drive progress independently and proactively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence across a wide range of stakeholders
- Ability to champion data stewardship best practices across teams and functions
