Tubi is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to drive long-term innovation and solve complex problems across content, product, personalization, marketing, and operations, influencing strategic decisions through quantitative insights and modeling for a global entertainment platform serving over 100 million monthly active users.
Requirements
- Expertise in at least one of the following domains: econometrics, optimization, statistics, causal inference, machine learning, or reinforcement learning.
- Expert proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark, with hands-on experience managing and analyzing large-scale, event-level data.
- Extensive experience designing and analyzing controlled experiments and observational studies.
- Proven track record of independently leading projects that deliver measurable impact at scale.
- Experience in video streaming, entertainment, or ad-supported media.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead high-impact data science initiatives that influence long-term company strategy and cross-functional priorities.
- Develop novel algorithms and machine learning models in areas such as personalization efficiency, content valuation, and portfolio optimization.
- Design, execute, and interpret sophisticated experiments and causal inference studies to measure impact and guide decision-making.
- Serve as a technical advisor and mentor to data scientists, engineers, and product leaders; drive best practices in experimentation, modeling, and decision science.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Product, Content, Studio, and Executive teams to embed data into every level of decision-making.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and ML Ops to improve data pipelines, feature engineering, and automation across experimentation workflows.
- Identify emerging methods, tools, and external trends that could reshape how we use data science across the organization.
Other
- 10+ years of experience in data science, ideally in a consumer technology or media company.
- Exceptional ability to communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.
- Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Physics, Operations Research, or similar.
