MLabs is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to bring deep technical rigor, advanced statistical methods, and analytical frameworks to their product and business strategy for building conversational AI agents for the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, with a strong, foundational knowledge in statistics and experimental design.
  • A proven history of designing, running, and analyzing A/B test experiments at scale.
  • Ability to reason about and analyze machine learning models (including understanding their assumptions, trade-offs, and impact on product outcomes).
  • Strong ability to structure ambiguous problems, translate them into analytical approaches, and reliably deliver business impact through data.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct rigorous, deep-dive analyses using advanced statistical methods on user behavior, product performance, and business outcomes to surface highly actionable insights.
  • Design, implement, and analyze controlled A/B test experiments at scale to measure product changes and customer experience; be the champion for establishing and defining our experimentation culture.
  • Evaluate and interpret the performance of ML models (e.g., classification, recommendation, LLM-based systems), helping product and engineering teams reason through trade-offs, limitations, and business implications.
  • Enhance and extend the company's data models, metrics, and dashboards to ensure consistent, scalable reporting across all teams.
  • Build and continuously improve the data stack, ensuring scalable models, pipelines, and tools that empower self-serve analytics across the company.
  • Communicate findings clearly and persuasively to executives and cross-functional stakeholders, directly influencing product strategy and key business decisions.
  • Work with cutting-edge conversational AI agents and LLM-based systems.

Other

  • 5+ years (or equivalent experience) in data science or product analytics roles, ideally within high-scale consumer or marketplace products.
  • Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated experience influencing stakeholders and driving high-level decisions across diverse teams.
