MongoDB is looking to promote its artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) capabilities to developers and needs an AI Developer Advocate to help achieve this goal

Requirements

  • Expertise in building AI or ML solutions and comfortable building agentic solutions
  • Prolific author of content (tutorials, how-to guides, readmes) and associated code to help developers learn
  • Experience with Python or JavaScript programming languages
  • Knowledge of MongoDB's core capabilities, data modeling, and emerging trends in the industry
  • Experience with vector search and Voyage AI
  • Ability to explain complex topics in a simple and easy-to-understand way
  • Strong understanding of MongoDB's AI-related features

Responsibilities

  • Build on a solid foundation of ML/AI expertise, adding to your database experience to become a MongoDB expert
  • Expand your knowledge of embedding models and rerankers to become an expert in Voyage AI
  • Maintain expertise with one or more complementary programming languages (Python or JavaScript preferred)
  • Create and update tutorials, articles, videos, and workshops along with their associated code examples
  • Collaborate with our events and field teams to engage developers and founders in the Bay Area
  • Regularly interface with Partner Managers to identify opportunities to work with key AI partners
  • Lead one-hour sessions (both virtual and in-person) with customer teams to evaluate their AI use cases

  • At least 3 years of experience in a builder role, such as a data scientist or developer
  • 8+ total years of experience through any combination of builder role, educator role, or customer-facing role
  • Connections with AI companies in the San Francisco Bay Area
  • Up to 25% of time traveling to Bay Area engagements
  • Up to 10% of time traveling outside of the Bay Area for customer engagements or team events
