The Peacock team at NBCUniversal is looking to solve the problem of building and supporting complex software systems for their streaming service, which combines timeless shows and movies with timely news, sports, and pop-culture, and is used by millions of users globally.
Requirements
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages (GO, Python, Java, JavaScript)
- Proficient with data persistence, caching and queuing performance optimization
- Strong experience of Cloud technologies inclusive of AWS, Azure and GCP
- Knowledge of video workflows, codecs, DRM, encoding, and packaging including CMAF, HEVC, UHD, HDR, ABR, HLS, Dash, SSAI
- Min 4 years of experience in engineering, software architecture and design
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure software systems.
- Identify, recommend and implement optimal design patterns
- Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and projects.
- Contributes to the design and architecture of media and metadata processing services
- Ability to leverage tools, such as lucid charts and others, to visually capture E2E component infrastructure with rich detail
- Review requirements and specifications of new and existing features, translating these into test cases for manual and automated workflows
- Drive innovation by researching and implementing new technologies and methodologies
