Samsung Semiconductor Inc., Wireless Connectivity Software Engineering team is seeking engineers to develop software infrastructure, framework, and protocol stack for UWB and WLAN chipsets, focusing on Physical Layer concepts and firmware development.

Requirements

  • Modern UWB specifications like 802.15.4z/ FiRa/DCK/CCC.
  • Modern 802.11be standards like Wi-Fi7.
  • Excellent coding skills in C programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of physical layer concepts (e.g., modulation analysis (OFDM), channel estimation, radar) & MAC Layer Concepts.
  • Experience in developing firmware for wireless communication protocols (UWB / WLAN).
  • Fluency in using lab equipment such as logic analyzers/oscilloscopes/network analyzers/spectrum analyzers/signal generators/power meters etc.
  • Familiarity with UWB/ WLAN standards & domain knowledge of UWB / Wi-Fi, PHY / MAC Specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test software modules for UWB/WLAN chipsets, with a focus on physical layer and MAC layer functionality.
  • Debug real-time systems, working hands-on with development boards and lab equipment
  • Participate in feature bring-up/interoperability activities with external certification labs as well as customer sites.
  • Collaborate with product S/W and manufacturing teams to provide system-level API and firmware functionality to meet end-user requirements.
  • Work closely with System engineering teams to architect, define and implement innovative algorithms, calibrations, and protocols.
  • Support post-silicon bring up, validation, performance characterization, system integration, and debug.

Other

  • BS and 7+ years of relevant industry experience. MSEE and PhD is preferred
