Samsung Semiconductor Inc. is seeking engineers to develop software infrastructure, framework, and protocol stack for UWB chipsets, specifically for the Physical Layer concepts and firmware development.

Requirements

  • Excellent coding skills in C programming languages.
  • Strong Understanding of UWB standards & domain knowledge of UWB MAC / PHY Specifications
  • Understanding of UCI layer, FiRa ranging and CCC standard is desirable.
  • Understanding of physical layer concepts (e.g., modulation analysis (OFDM), channel estimation, radar) is added advantage.
  • Experience in developing firmware for UWB communication protocols 802.15.4z and 802.15.4ab.
  • Fluency in using lab equipment such as logic analyzers/oscilloscopes/network analyzers/spectrum analyzers/signal generators/power meters etc.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test software modules for UWB chipsets, with a focus on MAC layer functionality.
  • Debug real-time systems, working hands-on with development boards and lab equipment
  • Participate in feature bring-up/interoperability activities with external certification labs as well as customer sites.
  • Collaborate with product S/W and manufacturing teams to provide system-level API and firmware functionality to meet end-user requirements.
  • Collaborate with System engineering teams to architect, define and implement innovative algorithms, calibrations, and protocols.
  • Support post-silicon bring up, validation, performance characterization, system integration, and debug.
