Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is looking to develop vehicles powered by software and data, leveraging big data from customer and commercial fleets to deliver intelligent, reliable, and sustainable vehicle experiences. The Generative AI Engineer will focus on building and integrating large language models (LLMs) and generative systems to enhance vehicle diagnostics and engineering workflows, leading to faster problem resolution, improved vehicle reliability, and greater efficiency for engineering teams.
Requirements
- Experience with LLMs (GPT, LLaMA, Mistral, etc.) and generative architectures (Transformers, VAEs).
- Strong skills in Python, LangChain, vector DBs, and RAG pipelines.
- Familiarity with applied MLOps for generative models (deployment, monitoring, retraining).
- Interest in vehicle diagnostics, agentic frameworks, and applied reasoning systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and fine-tune LLMs for diagnostics, requirement understanding, and vehicle code analysis.
- Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines leveraging Rivian’s internal data and documentation.
- Integrate generative models into agentic frameworks for automated reasoning and task execution.
- Partner with platform teams to optimize inference latency, cost, and accuracy for real-world deployments.
- Design evaluation and safety frameworks for generative models in production.
- Explore multimodal applications (telemetry + text) to deliver richer diagnostic insights.
- Contribute to the architecture and strategy of generative AI systems and mentor junior engineers.
