The company is looking to design, support, and package electro-mechanical actuators, optimizing them for global manufacturing and marketing while achieving a fully featured product at the lowest cost.
Requirements
- 3D Solid modeling (SolidWorks a plus)
- Large assemblies
- Detail drawing parts
- Stress and Deflection analysis (a plus)
- Material selection (a plus)
- Design for manufacturing (die cast, sand cast, investment cast, powder metal, machining, plastic injection molding) and assembly
- Dimensional stack up and tolerance analysis of components in assemblies
Responsibilities
- CAD 3D solid modeling of parts and assemblies in Solidworks or equivalent CAD program.
- CAD drawing generation per ANSI Y14.5
- Design mechanical parts and assemblies that meet the specifications for new products satisfying performance, cost, and quality, and industrial certification requirements.
- Design challenges include mechanical power transmission, electronic/electrical packaging, motors, explosion proof and weather proof enclosures.
- Optimizing components to match the manufacturing process to obtain best features and lowest cost.
- Individually and/or as Project Team Participant or Leader, design, model, analyze, fabricate and test actuators for customer orders, new product designs, and prototypes in a thorough and timely manner.
- Provide manufacturing with documentation for bills of material, product support, and product design procedures.
Other
- Associates Degree with focus on mechanical design. (BS in Mechanical Engineering a plus)
- Ability to plan, schedule, budget, and execute projects according to plan.
- This position requires access to onsite locations managing government information, which contains Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirements,you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship.
- Willingness to travel up to 5% (international travel)
