TikTok's UED Monetization team aims to enable clients to effortlessly connect with audiences and maximize brand potential by easing and inspiring clients to achieve their goals, explore more possibilities, and create value with TikTok. The Senior Product Designer will focus on advertising content review and risk control systems, owning end-to-end design for moderation and compliance workflows to ensure ads meet TikTok’s content and policy guidelines, thereby safeguarding the platform experience, improving reviewer efficiency, and ensuring policy compliance at scale.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product design experience, with at least 2 years in consumer-facing platforms or content moderation systems.
  • Strong familiarity with TikTok content/community guidelines or equivalent experience in social media content policy.
  • Experience in ads review, trust & safety, or risk control workflows.
  • Ability to translate complex compliance and policy requirements into clear, intuitive user experiences.
  • Proficiency in design tools (Figma, Sketch, etc.) and collaboration in agile product environments.
  • Prior experience in monetization platforms, advertiser tools, or B2B2C products.
  • Knowledge of machine learning moderation systems and their UI implications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of end-to-end ad review and risk control workflows, covering advertiser submission, automated review, manual review, and feedback loops.
  • Ensure designs meet both TikTok C-end content guideline requirements and operational needs.
  • Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and policy teams to translate complex compliance rules into intuitive user and reviewer experiences.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing with both internal reviewers and advertisers to identify pain points and improvement opportunities.
  • Design scalable solutions for high-volume content review scenarios, leveraging automation, AI-driven moderation, and efficient UI patterns.
  • Create wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and detailed specifications for both desktop and mobile platforms.
  • Ensure consistency through alignment with TikTok’s design systems and brand guidelines.

Other

  • Fluency or proficiency in Mandarin, for product launches and communication with external stakeholders.
  • Experience designing for global markets with cultural and regulatory considerations.
  • Understanding of operational workflows in large-scale moderation teams.
  • Act as a design advocate, promoting user-first thinking within a policy-driven environment.
  • Collaborate with Global Monetization Business Integrity team.
