The Department of Veteran Affairs is looking to solve the problem of providing mental health services to Veterans by hiring a Staff Psychologist to work in community-based outpatient clinic (CBOC) sites.
Requirements
- Knowledge of psycho-diagnostic services and psychotherapeutic techniques
- Experience with diagnostic evaluations and psychological testing
- Familiarity with evidence-based treatments for PTSD and other mental disorders
- Ability to complete clinical charting and documentation
- Experience with program evaluation and/or research activities
- Knowledge of data-driven quality assurance processes
- Experience with grant proposals and RFP's
Responsibilities
- Provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services including assessment and using the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques in providing quality care.
- Performs diagnostic evaluations for Veterans with a full range of mental disorders.
- Conducts psychological testing and assessments utilizing objective measures, clinical interviews, records reviews, and consultation with other treating providers as needed, and prepares testing reports.
- Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions, including evidence based treatments for PTSD and other mental disorders.
- Responsible for timely completion of all clinical charting and documentation required by the Healthcare System, as appropriate.
- Consults with Healthcare System staff on a wide variety of patient care issues.
- May be involved in program evaluation and/or research activities.

- Must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy
- Must submit EDRP application within four months of appointment
- Must be a current permanent Department of Veteran Affairs employee, current permanent Federal employee of other agencies, past/current/upcoming graduate of VHA Health Professions Trainee (HPT) program, or all US Citizen
- Must pass a drug test
- Must have a 2-page Resume (note: this requirement does not apply to this occupational series)
