Uber Eats is looking to deeply understand its users and shape the future of how they discover, shop, and engage on the platform by tackling high-impact, cross-functional projects
Requirements
- Expertise in applied statistics, causal inference, and experimentation, with hands-on experience analyzing large-scale behavioral data to drive product or business decisions
- Ph.D., or M.S. in Statistics, Economics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields
- Minimum 4 years of industry experience in data science, analytics, or a related quantitative field, with a strong track record of impact in consumer technology or marketplace environments
- Familiarity with Uber Eats' lines of business (e.g., Restaurants, Grocery, Alcohol) and an understanding of multi-sided marketplace dynamics
Responsibilities
- Lead the scientific agenda across the Uber Eats shopping funnel, identifying key questions, designing learning plans, and translating insights into strategic direction
- Conduct advanced analyses-including behavioral modeling, causal inference, and experiment design-to uncover how users engage with the platform and how our systems should respond
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Product, Engineering, Operations, and Marketing to influence priorities and ensure insights are integrated into product roadmaps
- Serve as a thought partner to senior leadership, providing clear, principled guidance on tradeoffs that span short- vs. long-term growth and multiple lines of business
- Jump into high-priority initiatives, providing scientific support and thought leadership on ambiguous or high-impact questions
Other
