Visa Technology & Operations LLC needs a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to manage and maintain application performance and deployments.
Requirements
- Shell scripting and programming knowledge
- Linux Systems, Databases and Network concepts
- Analyzing Java application logs on Linux or Unix
- Splunk
- Code deployment using Jenkins
- Docker and Kubernetes
- Graphana
Responsibilities
- Be the initial escalation point for Service Desk Tier 1 for application issues
- Perform routine application maintenance including host file updates, log rotation, and shell scripting for common tasks
- Maintain and update 3rd part applications (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Tomcat, WAS, etc.)
- Monitor application performance (e.g., memory, logging, and latency)
- Perform weekly code deployment to the production environment
- Implement and maintain performance monitoring dashboards using Splunk, Thousand Eyes, Graphite, etc.
- Support application deployment for new and existing services or features working with different Product Development and Engineering
Other
- Be the initial escalation point for Service Desk Tier 1 for application issues
- Contribute information to project plans and meet stated deadlines
- Support customer support on merchant escalated issues specific to applications
- Position reports to the Highlands Ranch, Colorado office and may allow for partial telecommuting
- Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a engineer-related occupation. Alternatively, Employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a engineer-related occupation.
