The company needs a Staff Software Engineer to lead development, guide implementation of the company’s technology strategy, and level up the organization through teaching, coaching, and leading by example.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining multiple high-scale, event-driven, and decoupled systems leveraging modern cloud-based frameworks in e-commerce, fintech, health tech, or similar industries
- Experience working in environments where there are systems, processes, and culture that enable rapid, high-quality development and deployment: CI/CD, automated test practices and infrastructure, production observability, robust feature flagging and experimentation
- Demonstrated experience in data-first environments where data technology plays a key role in identifying business opportunities
- Working knowledge of engineering best practices for privacy and security compliance with PII/PHI: HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA or similar regulatory frameworks
- Experience with Azure, AWS, GCP, or similar platforms
- Experience mentoring and coaching engineers through the senior level
- Experience designing and implementing systems, processes, and culture that enable rapid, high-quality development and deployment
Responsibilities
- Deliver several multi-team projects in parallel or single-team projects of the highest complexity
- Lead development and guide implementation of the company’s technology strategy, creating technical vision and roadmap on a 12+ month horizon
- Design enduring system architectures and teach others to do the same
- Champion and practice AI-assisted coding techniques to enhance development efficiency
- Write code
- Set a technical quality vision and drive the roadmap to achieve it
- Level up the organization through teaching, coaching, and leading by example
