Spring Health is looking to revolutionize mental healthcare by removing barriers to access and delivering the right care at the right time. This role is for a new product initiative aimed at further advancing this mission.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a software engineer, with a proven track record of delivering successful products, ideally in healthcare.
  • Experience in startup environments.
  • Nice-to-have: experience in healthcare, mental-health tech, or applied AI/ML.
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with TypeScript, Ruby, and/or Python.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a high-impact 0-1 product initiative, acting as a technical leader and contributing across various facets of engineering.
  • Design and execute high-priority projects that support the company’s mission of transforming mental healthcare.
  • Partner with the GM, Engineering Managers, and CTO to establish technical standards, set a clear vision, and create scalable software architecture.
  • Break down complex requirements into manageable, incremental deliverables, applying mastery of your craft to deliver high-quality work.
  • Prioritize and manage project timelines, ensuring successful completion of deliverables while maintaining a high level of autonomy in day-to-day decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and take initiative to drive leadership in these areas.
  • Quickly pivot and adapt solutions based on feedback or new insights, clearly communicating changes to your team and maintaining momentum.

  • Reporting to the Director of Engineering, New Venture, you will take on a high-visibility, high-impact role as a Staff Software Engineer for a new product initiative.
  • In this key technical position within a 0-to-1 team, you’ll have the autonomy to drive technical decisions and influence the direction of product development.
  • You'll collaborate closely with R&D leadership to design and execute high-priority projects that support our company’s mission of transforming mental healthcare.
  • This is a unique opportunity to be a foundational member of an empowered, purpose-driven team working on an innovative early-stage product.
  • You will engage with a collaborative group focused on building solutions that make a lasting difference in mental healthcare.
  • Work with a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, data scientists, and marketers to rapidly innovate, ensuring the product aligns with the company’s mission and goals.
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of our products, users, and the broader impact on mental healthcare, ensuring that your work is aligned with a clear sense of purpose.
  • Collaborate with a passionate, close-knit team on special projects, where you’ll experience autonomy, growth, and purpose in every aspect of your work.
  • Help launch an innovative, high-impact mental health product within the first 2 quarters.
  • Establish trust and connections within the team and across the organization.
  • Elevate the standards of engineering excellence and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to building a thriving team culture.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and purpose-driven environment.
  • Strong ability to navigate ambiguity with a bias toward autonomy and decision-making.
