GM's Software & Services Engineering organization is looking to ensure reliability, performance, and consistency in the software and services GM ships, and this role is critical to driving and organizing the team that creates processes, platforms, and tools to achieve this goal.
Requirements
- At least 20 years of software industry experience, preferably including technical hands-on work.
- Deep experience with a variety of software development team personas.
- Strong sense of responsibility and well-tuned organizational skills.
- Excellent organization, communication, and social skills.
- Proven track record of building alignment between cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Directly Responsible Individual on key initiatives.
- Provide support and guidance to engineering leaders and individual contributor team members.
- Organize and manage activities that cross-cut Software Delivery's individual departments.
- Help drive continual improvement of SDLC best practices, eliminating inefficiencies and improving quality.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication and alignment between Software Delivery and partner teams.
- Facilitate communication to the Software Delivery org.
- Help drive technical, organizational, and business decisions and strategy.
Other
- Travel may be required, with a 50-mile radius of Mountain View requiring a minimum of three visits per week.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree may be required, but not specified.
