Okta is looking to simplify and secure internal operations through automation, analysis, and scale by developing internal tooling, infrastructure, and services that empower Okta employees to work as effectively as possible. This role will help build the infrastructure and applications that make intelligent automation and GenAI real for Okta's workforce.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including building and maintaining production services at scale
- Experience working with distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and API-based integrations
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts, and interest in applying LLMs, NLP, or automation tools in practical use cases
- Experience building services using containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience deploying cloud infrastructure to GCP & AWS using IAAS like Terraform, OpenTofu, or similar
Responsibilities
- Design and build production grade internal services that integrate GenAI and automation into core business workflows (e.g., virtual agents, RAG, enterprise search)
- Work closely with product, engineering, and data science teams to deliver features from prototype to production, with a focus on quality and user experience
- Contribute to platform architecture decisions, especially around LLM integration, API design, and system observability
- Write clean, maintainable code in languages like Python or Go, and build services using containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Deploy cloud infrastructure to GCP & AWS using IAAS like Terraform, OpenTofu, or similar
- Promote engineering best practices around testing, security, CI/CD, and operational readiness
- Participate in design reviews, troubleshooting sessions, and peer mentorship to support a strong, collaborative engineering culture
