Bluestaq is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to engineer secure, scalable data ecosystems for space, defense, healthcare, and beyond, tackling mission-critical challenges and protecting valuable data.
Requirements
- Proficient in Java, Python, or other major programming languages.
- Hands-on experience with Java build tools like Maven and Gradle.
- Strong background in applied security principles and cloud infrastructures, particularly AWS.
- Experience with big data technologies and modern data storage solutions.
- Proven ability in both front-end and back-end development.
- Familiarity with Scrum and Agile methodologies.
- Proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Jenkins.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex software systems with a focus on robustness, scalability, and security.
- Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code that stands up to real-world demands.
- Collaborate on designing system architecture and technical specifications that support long-term growth.
- Develop backend services, APIs, and microservices that power high-performance applications.
- Implement design patterns and best practices to boost performance, scalability, and code readability.
- Conduct rigorous testing to catch issues before they surface.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues throughout the development lifecycle.
Other
- Available 3 p.m.-6 p.m. Mountain Time, Monday-Thursday, for live collaboration with international partners; remaining schedule is flexible within standard Bluestaq core business hours.
- Partner daily with distributed teams, bridging time-zone gaps to drive architectural decisions.
- This position requires the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance.
- To be eligible for a security clearance, US Citizenship is required, and an employee must agree to participate in a background screen and credit check.
