Maxar is looking for a Staff Software Development Engineer to join its Mapping Engineering team to solve complex problems with customer driven objectives, developing tools and technologies related to image processing, remote sensing, geospatial and other AI applications.
Requirements
- 5+ years demonstrated experience with programming, design, and development in Python or C++.
- Development experience with service-oriented software
- Development experience with current frameworks
- Knowledge of multi-tier, heterogeneous architectures and how they typically fit together
- Understanding of what it takes to keep a software system or service healthy
- Working knowledge of AWS or comparable cloud technologies
- Geodesic and/or photogrammetric expertise
Responsibilities
- Design, development and/or deploy software services
- Incorporate customer feedback into software products.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure quality.
- Monitor AWS costs and system health
- Participate in design, requirement, and systems documentation
- Immerse yourself in the tools and systems built by your teams
- Evolve your language skills by staying current and improve efficiency using AI assisted code development tools
