Visa U.S.A. Inc. needs a Staff SW Engineer to be responsible for the architecture, design, development, and implementation of software applications, evaluate and introduce technology tools and processes, develop and implement unified control center and monitoring tools, formulate methods for consistent data loading and optimize data operations, monitor platform health, generate performance reports, and ensure on-time delivery of projects.
Requirements
- Programming Languages like Java, J2EE, Python, Spring Boot, Reactive Programming, Apache Camel, JDBC, and/ or Hibernate;
- Front End Technologies like React JS, Angular JS, and/ or HTML;

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the architecture, design, development, and implementation of software applications.
- Evaluate and introduce technology tools and processes that enable Visa to develop products and solutions, to embrace business opportunities and/or improve operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement unified control center and monitoring tools to measure, monitor, and report on platform, data availability, utilization, capacity trend, and overall health metrics.
- Formulate methods to enable consistent data loading and optimize data operations.
- Monitor health of platforms, generate performance reports, and monitor and provide continuous improvements.
- Ensure on-time delivery of projects, production support plans, and knowledge transfer for long-term supportability of upgrades, enhancements, and deployments.
- Understand usage patterns and workload requirements of new projects.
Other
- Employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation.
- Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related field, followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation.
- Develop code and mentor junior developers to ensure deliverables are on time, within budget, and with good code quality.
- Position reports to the Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting.
