Requirements
- Backend Engineering expertise: Deep expertise in .NET and Azure Cloud services (e.g., App Services, Azure Functions, AKS)
- Frontend Engineering expertise: Strong experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue) and mobile development (native or cross-platform)
- Proven track record of building cloud-native applications using microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Bicep, Terraform)
- Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and system integration
- Experience with observability tools and performance tuning in production environments
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR)
Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior technical leader across multiple engineering teams, driving architectural decisions, aligning technical direction with strategic goals, and ensuring consistency in implementation
- Establish and maintain architectural standards and patterns through collaboration with Product and Engineering teams to translate the growing organizational needs into scalable, secure and compliant technical platforms
- Architect and build distributed systems and microservices optimized for Cloud deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and serverless technologies
- Teach, mentor, and advise engineers across teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Define and advocate for engineering best practices and processes, including champion of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability practices to ensure high-quality and efficient delivery
Other
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a Principal or Staff Engineer role
- Travel to the Bannockburn IL office on a monthly basis
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across teams
- Work environment – Fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic work environment with a focus on teamwork and meeting tight deadlines
