OffSec is looking to hire a Staff Engineer to drive monumental technical change, deliver high-quality features five times faster than their peers, and act as a force multiplier for the entire engineering organization, addressing the need for elite defenders and closing the global infosec talent gap.
Requirements
- Expert proficiency in at least Typescript and Python
- Deep experience with modern cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Deep working experience in highly agile and fast-iteration environments.
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex distributed systems, microservices architecture, and performance optimization at scale.
- Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, containerization, virtualization and modern database technologies.
- A portfolio or history of delivering projects from start to full completion or significantly overhauling critical systems single-handedly or as the primary technical lead.
- Experience in rapid-development methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy complex, high-performance, and scalable software solutions across the full stack.
- Consistently deliver features and projects at a pace that is multiple times faster than the team average.
- Take ownership of critical system components, providing key input on architecture, design, and implementation choices to ensure long-term stability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Write exceptionally clean, well-tested, and documented code.
- Conduct rigorous code reviews that significantly improve the quality and efficiency of the team's output.
- Seamlessly shift between front-end, back-end, infrastructure, and database tasks (full-stack proficiency is a must) to remove roadblocks and accelerate team velocity.
- Act as the go-to expert for diagnosing and resolving the most complex and ambiguous technical issues and performance bottlenecks in production environments.
Other
- 7+ years of professional software development experience, with a proven track record of outsized contribution and impact.
- Actively mentoring mid-level and junior engineers, setting a world-class standard for technical execution, quality, and velocity.
- Help define and champion best practices, design patterns, and engineering standards across the department.
- Work closely with Product Management and stakeholders to refine requirements, challenge technical assumptions, and ensure we are building the right things, the right way.
- Work hours for this position are flexible and will be performed from a home office.
