Create new structured geospatial data and accelerate map making to enable Google's next wave of geospatial-powered applications and help shape the future of Maps
Requirements
- Experience with common machine learning techniques and technologies
- Experience with image processing, and computer vision
- Experience with one or more of the following: Computer Vision, Reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field
- Experience in modeling with TensorFlow, JAX, etc.
- 5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning)
Responsibilities
- Design and build end-to-end solutions for automating map data creation using state-of-the-art ML technology
- Engage with users and client teams across Geo and Google to understand current and future needs of geospatial data
- Work with Google Research and other teams to integrate state-of-the-art ML and AI solutions into Geo products
- Uphold a high standard for engineering excellence through good practices in code health, maintainability, and testability
- Keep up with industry trends, be a technical lead, establish technical roadmaps, and guide junior team members
Other
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- 8 years of experience in software development
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in large-sized engineering and cross functional teams
