Google's Geo team is looking to accelerate map making by creating new structured geospatial data. This involves solving complex computer science problems, designing intuitive product experiences, and improving the understanding of the real world to enable Google's next wave of geospatial-powered applications and shape the future of Maps.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
- Experience with common machine learning techniques and technologies.
- 5 years of experience with one or more of the following: computer vision, reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), ML infrastructure or specialization in another ML field.
- Experience with image processing and computer vision.
- Experience with multiple research publications in top CV/ML conferences (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NIPS and ICLR).
- Experience in modeling with TensorFlow, JAX, etc.
Responsibilities
- Design and build end-to-end solutions for automating map data creation using state-of-the-art ML technology.
- Collaborate with Google Research and other teams to integrate state-of-the-art ML and AI solutions into Geo products.
- Uphold a high standard for engineering excellence through good practices in code health, maintainability and testability.
- Keep up with industry trends, serve as a technical lead, establish technical roadmaps and guide team members.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
