Datadog APM needs to provide deep visibility into applications, identify performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and optimize services. The team is looking to enhance the product with an intelligence layer to accelerate root cause analysis and guide users in optimizing their systems.
Requirements
- Deep backend programming expertise — you’ve architected, built, and operated complex systems at scale.
- Hands-on experience developing web applications is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and drive high-priority, high-visibility projects to make APM the best performance insights product on the market.
- Provide technical leadership across organizational boundaries to ensure maximum delivery efficiency.
- Support and guide other engineers through product and architectural platform decisions.
- Provide input on prioritizing engineering-led planning and roadmaps.
- Collaborate with internal product teams to design solutions that meet our customer needs.
- Recognize meaningful problems to solve, prototype what a solution would look like and drive the implementation end to end.
- Build customer empathy by talking directly to customers.

- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
- 4+ years of technical leadership experience, including both effective communication of complex concepts and experience coordinating across teams to ship critical products
