Requirements
- Deep expertise in building distributed, cloud-based systems (AWS or similar).
- Strong proficiency in modern web technologies (e.g., Ruby on Rails, Vue.js, or similar frameworks).
- Excellent system design and architecture skills, with experience scaling high-performant platforms.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures, microservices, and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of highly scalable, reliable, and secure systems.
- Define and drive technical standards, best practices, and long-term architecture across multiple engineering teams.
- Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into technical execution plans.
- Conduct design and code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and performance.
- Proactively identify system bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute hands-on with coding, prototyping, and delivering high-impact features.
- Collaborate with the R&D leadership team to influence technology strategy and roadmap.
Other
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in a Staff/Principal-level or equivalent role.
- Proven ability to lead large, cross-team technical initiatives from concept to delivery.
- Strong communication and leadership skills; able to influence without direct authority.
- A passion for mentoring and enabling other engineers to succeed.
- Experience in eCommerce, SaaS, or marketplace platforms.
- Prior experience in a fast-growing startup environment.
