Tilt is looking to scale one of the fastest-growing credit card platforms while building systems that directly contribute to Empower's mission of financial empowerment. The credit business represents a substantial and rapidly growing portion of Empower's revenue mix, and the role will be instrumental in achieving ambitious growth targets.

Requirements

  • 7+ years developing web APIs within .NET (C)
  • Experience building resilient financial systems with state machine logic and complex lifecycles
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, queue-based architectures, and data-intensive applications
  • Experience scaling consumer-facing products with significant transaction volumes
  • Able to effectively leverage AI-powered development tools (e.g., Cursor, Augment, Factory) to enhance productivity, code quality, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • driving both adoption and utilization of our card products through engineering excellence
  • scaling our platform to handle substantial growth - evolving our existing systems to support an expanding customer base while maintaining our competitive advantage
  • Enhancing our AI-driven payment scheduling systems that accurately forecast customer paycheck timing
  • Scaling our rewards platform to drive increased card utilization
  • Optimizing our virtual card infrastructure to enable instant spending
  • Building automated loss mitigation features that leverage our proprietary risk models
  • Creating sophisticated customer segmentation tools that support our portfolio expansion from non-prime to near-prime offerings

  • Ability to balance immediate business needs with long-term architectural considerations
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with product, risk, and operational teams
  • Comfort making decisions with incomplete information and adapting as new data emerges
  • Skill in mentoring and elevating the capabilities of other engineers
  • Travel for company offsites is expected at a minimum 2 times a year.
