Rippling is building the first modern multi-sided marketplace that seamlessly connects brokers, employers, and employees with any benefit. Our platform powers discovery, purchase, and use of benefits products around the world. The current benefits experience is antiquated, expensive, and confusing, costing employers and employees over $5 trillion globally each year.

Requirements

  • Extensive Experience: 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a focus on building large-scale platforms for web applications.
  • Proven expertise in developing complex, distributed services using languages such as Python, Golang, or Java.
  • Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Architect a configurable benefits platform that enables rapid rollout of new benefit types without shipping new code—own schemas, validation, pricing rules, and self-serve configuration.
  • Unify fragmented systems across regions by defining a shared data model and executing phased migrations (shadowing, dual-writes, safe rollback) to deliver a single global experience.
  • Close feature and integration gaps for SMBs by prioritizing customer-impacting work and measuring outcomes via adoption, win-rate, and retention.
  • Build tools and insights for brokers and admins, including utilization dashboards and proactive alerts that highlight under-used benefits and drive engagement.
  • Influence across boundaries—align infra, security, compliance, and product teams; communicate tradeoffs clearly; build consensus and keep the program on track through delivery.
  • Design and develop high-quality software products, driving architectural decisions and overseeing the complete product delivery lifecycle.
  • Coordinate cross-team collaborations, integrate customer feedback into the product engineering roadmap, and drive successful delivery execution.

Other

  • Mentor and Inspire: Guide and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
  • A commitment to owning the product lifecycle and solving real-world problems for our customers.
  • Passionate about working in a product-focused environment with a deep commitment to customer impact.
  • Rippling highly values having employees working in-office to foster a collaborative work environment and company culture. For office-based employees (employees who live within a defined radius of a Rippling office), Rippling considers working in the office, at least three days a week under current policy, to be an essential function of the employee's role.
  • This role will receive a competitive salary + benefits + equity.
