Riot Games is looking to solve the problem of scaling their infrastructure to support their games operating globally at scale, by building software and tools to automate all aspects of their infrastructure.
Requirements
- Expertise with full software development life cycle
- Expertise in one or more object oriented languages (i.e. Python, Go, Java, C++)
- Experience working with containers and orchestration engines such as Kubernetes
- Experience with Cloud development
- Understand core infrastructure services, distributed systems, microservices, and software at high scale
- Understand fundamental networking concepts - Comfortable with the OSI model, particularly layers 4 (ex: TCP) through 7 (ex: HTTP)
- Experience operating and supporting agile development, production services, and high availability
Responsibilities
- Develop tools and features based on requirements and designs per agreements with our stakeholders using our standard frameworks and best practices
- Drives technical processes for their team and related teams, working with team leadership for alignment and prioritization
- Proactively look for efficiency and improvement opportunities within our infrastructure and propose solutions
- Lead by example on quality design and coding standards, and provide direction on new work efforts to other engineers on the team
- Build healthy relationships with other engineering teams at Riot to foster cross-team collaboration
- Support the team as it collaborates with other teams across not just infrastructure but across all of Riot to solve critical problem areas where tooling and automation are keys to the solution
- Help grow the team through participation in interviews and mentoring of more junior teammates
