Watershed is looking to solve sustainability challenges and manage climate and ESG data for companies
Requirements
- 6+ years of industry experience in data engineering or software engineering with a strong focus on data systems
- Fluent in Python and SQL, and have experience with data pipelining and transformation frameworks
- Experience modeling and harmonizing data from diverse, messy, or inconsistent sources into structured, reliable datasets
- Care about engineering craft: writing well-tested, maintainable code and building abstractions that scale
- Comfortable building data platforms and tooling that will be used by other engineers, scientists, and analysts
- Typescript is a plus
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and expand datasets used for sustainability impact assessment across global value chains
- Design and implement data models and schemas that ensure consistency, integrity, and clear semantics across heterogeneous data sources
- Develop and operate data pipelines to efficiently ingest, transform, and harmonize external datasets into well-structured, production-grade data assets
- Implement robust validation, quality checks, and monitoring processes to ensure reliability and correctness of data over time
- Build abstractions, tooling, and processes that empower data scientists and analysts to develop and test new pipelines safely and efficiently
- Partner with product and engineering teams to make sustainability data available in ways that serve a variety of customer outcomes

- Must be willing to work from an office 4 days per week (except for remote roles)
- Communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical collaborators
