Versaterm is looking to drive the development of modern, scalable, and high-performance web applications that empower emergency responders and law enforcement professionals by creating and evolving a UI component team and system, ensuring consistency, reusability, accessibility, and ADA compliance across all products, and leveraging AI to generate, optimize, and scale component trees.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and React (or similar modern frameworks).
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable UI component systems or design systems.
- Hands-on experience using Twitter Bootstrap, Tailwind, and Material Design.
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA), responsive design, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools for generating, managing, or optimizing component structures.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and agile practices.
- Experience rolling out and governing design systems across multiple products and teams.
Responsibilities
- Define and uphold frontend architecture, coding standards, and best practices.
- Lead code reviews, technical discussions, and mentor engineers at all levels.
- Drive the roadmap and governance of Versaterm's UI component system.
- Build and maintain responsive, performant, and accessible UIs using Vue (and other modern frameworks as applicable).
- Collaborate with backend engineers to design efficient APIs and integrations.
- Architect, maintain, and evolve a scalable design system and component library used across multiple products.
- Use AI tools like ChatGPT to generate and refine component trees.
Other
- 6+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
- 6+ years of product design experience with a focus on human-centered design.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor and lead effectively.
- Passion for public safety and creating software that saves lives.
- This position requires compliance with the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy. Candidates must successfully pass a comprehensive, fingerprint-based background check.
