Squarespace Domains is looking for a Frontend Staff Software Engineer to lead org-wide initiatives to support millions of Domains customers, aiming to establish their online presence, with a direct and measurable impact on their success.
Requirements
- Have experience designing and implementing complex and scalable web applications, in collaboration with multiple teams and partners
- Have experience with HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular
- Understand web performance, security, and accessibility principles
- Familiar with server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG)
- Familiar with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical leader, driving the architecture, design, and implementation of critical frontend systems and client platforms
- Provide hands-on guidance to multiple engineering teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable frontend solutions
- Design advanced user interfaces and reusable components using modern frameworks and libraries
- Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to build new features
- Guide architectural decisions and lead technical discussions to ensure the long-term health of our frontend platform
- Promote best practices in code quality, accessibility, performance, and testing.
- Stay current with latest trends and technologies, and identify opportunities for innovation

- This is a hybrid role working from our New York City office 3 days per week.
- You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager of Domains in NYC.
- Be a mentor for junior and mid-level engineers, encouraging a culture of learning
- Have 8+ years of professional experience in frontend web development
