Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information. Products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend beyond web search. Google Compute Engine (GCE) is the foundation of Google Cloud Platform and provides Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) to Google Cloud customers. The GCE Telemetry team plays a critical role in providing customers with the information and tools necessary to understand and improve the overall observability of the compute instances.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience with database design and data warehouse development.
  • 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
  • Lead and drive data driven product improvements across functional organizations.
  • Manage data quality and data governance, data architecture and data modeling.
  • Observe trends and anomalies in the high cardinality dataset.
  • Manage data visualization tools such as Tableau and Looker and/or build a custom dashboard/UI using JavaScript/React.
  • Manage relational and non-relational databases and normalization.

Other

  • Lead and drive data driven product improvements across functional organizations.
  • Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
