Google's GGI Data and Systems Initiative (DASI) team aims to move GGI towards a gold standard in data management by streamlining, standardizing, and consolidating GGI's data to build a seamless and trustworthy data ecosystem. This initiative supports GGI's ambitious scale and continuous evolution, strengthens data quality to increase trust and reliability, enables faster decision-making, reduces operational risks, and supports critical user journeys across GGI.
Requirements
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- 2 years of experience in full-stack software development and system design.
- 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
- Experience with database optimization or tools development.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software and systems supporting the DASI team's key initiatives.
- Collaborate with the GGI Data Council, data and system owners, tech leads, and cross-functional teams to define requirements, design solutions, and drive implementation to improve GGI data integration and governance process.
- Lead the technical design and execution of complex projects, ensuring alignment with the long-term data architecture strategy.
- Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to production support.
- Identify and advocate for improvements to data quality, system architecture, and engineering practices within GGI.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews and best practices.
Other
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
