Zoox is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to build the tools that power their autonomous ride sharing service. The Operational Tools Team is crucial for the safe and effective use of their autonomous robotaxi fleet.

Requirements

• Solid foundations in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS
• Solid understanding of web technologies
• Experience with a Front End UI Framework (e.g. Vue, React, Svelte)
• Ability to design and architect large scale web applications
• Experience with Python or C++
• Experience with 3D graphics, especially in a web context.
• Familiarity with robotics and 3D spatial reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly scalable and reliable web applications to support Zoox's autonomous robotaxi service.
• Provide architectural leadership across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and AI investments — ensuring reliability, scalability, and technical excellence.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams, PMs, designers and remote operators to build new features
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, performing code reviews and promoting best practices

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in an engineering, mathematics, or related field
