Google is looking to solve the problem of ensuring sufficient resources for consumption within Persistent Disks (PD) while defending its obtainability and performance Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and operating with low costs, to make block storage a foundational cloud infrastructure differentiator and enable accelerated growth of AI and non-AI workloads.
Requirements
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
- 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- Experience with information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operationalize distributed systems that do everything from leveraging data science produced models to forecast resource usage and the resource reservation to providing the APIs used by the rest of PD for understanding capacity levels and resource availability.
- Provide services that enable resource management through its entire life-cycle within PD, including obtaining the resources from Google Cloud's underlying capacity infrastructure, divesting resources when they are no longer needed, and managing their usage by customers in high performance scenarios.
- Build tenancy protection mechanisms for resources, balancing fair resource distribution with the needs for enterprise and ML workloads.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
- Work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve.
- Develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another.
Other
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
